Senior Software Engineer Wanted

We are seeking qualified resumes of experienced Java web developers to be part of team building software for a next generation mobile marketing company. This position is for permanent, full-time employment with a leader in mobile marketing strategies, revolutionizing the classified ad and mobile marketing industries. Candidates must be local given our need to fill this position immediately.

SUMMARIZED JOB DESCRIPTION FOLLOWS:

Position: Senior Software Engineer - Java/J2EE

Job Summary: Design and develop major components of a next generation mobile marketing / classified advertising software platform.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  * Design and develop Java web and mobile-based, service-oriented software through all tiers from presentation to persistence
  * Develop in a fast iteration, agile environment
  * Respond effectively and professionally to all production, testing and development environment issues
  * Effectively communicate design decisions and other issues with other members of the team
  * Mentor junior members of the team
  * Interface with product management, business analysts, project management and customers on an as-needed basis

Preferred Skills:

  * Expert level java development and knowledge of J2EE API’s
  * Strong knowledge of java open source technologies
  * Experience with Tomcat app server deployment in a clustered environment
  * Experience with light-weight container technology such as the Spring Framework
  * Experience developing software for a highly scalable web and mobile web site
  * Sun Certifications including: Java Programmer, Business Component Developer, Web Component Developer, Java Web Services, etc.

Required Skills:

  * Proficiency with the core Java language, J2EE API’s, object-oriented design and design patterns
  * Ability to work in a low-process rapid development environment
  * Ability to acquire and master new and complex technical skills
  * Ability to be a self-starter and use own initiative appropriately
  * Proficiency with database design and SQL data modeling skills
  * Proficiency with the following presentation-tier technologies: JSP/JSTL, JavaScript/DHTML, CSS and XHTML
  * Focus on enhancing existing applications and developing new features
  * Ability to sift through and work with legacy code that needs to be reworked
  * BS in CS/EE or similar discipline and a MS strongly preferred

Desirable candidates must thrive in a start-up environment and should have at least 5 years Java experience, 3 years J2EE experience and 2 year developing web applications based on an MVC framework like Struts, Spring or Webwork. Candidates should have SQL experience and some experience using Hibernate, JDO or equivalent O/RM technology.
