Texting with Gumiyo

We've reserved a number of short codes to work with our Mobile Ready Platform. These include 48696, 22345, 274447, and 97777. These short codes work with the following US Carriers: Alltel, AT&T, Boost, Cellular One, Cincinati Bell, Nextel, Sprint, T-Mobile, US Cellular, Verizon, & Virgin Mobile.

A short code works like an address to which SMS text messages can be sent from a mobile phone. Various "words" or "commands" included in the body of an SMS text message can be sent to our short codes in order to access a variety of mobile content or to issue commands to the Gumiyo service. These words or commands are referred to as 'Go Codes'. Keep in mind, it does not matter whether you use upper or lowercase letters when you send the commands to our short codes as they are case-insensitive.

For Mobile Users Gumiyo does not charge mobile users for accessing our hosted mobile websites via any Gumiyo Go Code (ie: sending text to GoCode to receive desired information), however Message & Data Rates May Apply. Basic Text-Message Commands on Gumiyo

FIND
To setup alerts that search Gumiyo for a specific item or keyword, text:
FIND + [ space ] + [ keyword ]

To setup alerts that search for an item in a specific location, text:
FIND + [space] + keyword + [space] + IN + [space] + city/state/zip

You can also use the commands "search" or "buy" in place of "find". Gumiyo will return up to 3 text messages each containing a link to one of the top 3 matches. In addition, each text message will include a link to more matching results. You will continue to receive text message alerts to your mobile phone each time a matching listing is published.

To stop all alerts, text the word STOP to the corresponding short code (48696, 22345, 274447, or 97777)

SELL
To create a new listing on Gumiyo, text:

SELL + [space] + description

You can also use the commands RENT or WTP in place of SELL.
Gumiyo will return a text-message that includes a link to further review and edit your listing. To include images with your listing you will need to sign in to your Gumiyo account from a Web browser.

Alternatively, you can create a new listing from a mobile phone by sending an MMS or Multimedia Message to (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). In this scenario, you can attach images or video from your phone to the MMS along with a description and title.

TELL
To tell or invite a friend to Gumiyo, text:

TELL + [space] + email address or mobile number + [space] + MSG + [space] + your message

You may also use the words "SEND" or "INVITE" in place of "TELL"

HELP
To access this help page, text HELP to 48696, 22345, 274447, or 97777

STOP
Text the word STOP to 48696, 22345, 274447, and 97777 to cancel all incoming alerts from Gumiyo. Note: After sending a STOP message, you will need to create new alerts from scratch in order to use the Gumiyo Alert service.

Texting Other Stuff

You can text a number of other words or commands to Gumiyo in order to access various pages and listings.

GO CODE
GumiyoPRO sellers are able to reserve their custom GO CODE, a 3 to 12 character alphanumeric "address" or "shortcut" to their custom Gumiyo Mobile Home Page. Texting a seller's GO CODE to 48696, 22345, 274447, or 97777 will return a text message with a link to that seller's Mobile Home Page. A GO CODE is case-insensitive.

Listing ID
Every listing published on Gumiyo is assigned a unique numeric ID. Texting that ID will return a text message with a link to the listing details.

MLS IDs, VINs, Stock Numbers
GumiyoPRO sellers can combine their GO CODE with an MLS ID, the last 8 digits of a VIN, or a Stock Number.
Text: [ GOCODE ] + [space] + [ MLS ID, VIN or STOCK NUMBER ] to return a text message with a link to the relevant listing.

Note: An MLS ID, VIN, or Stock Number must be saved with the listing in order for this feature to function.
